The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 is a modern budget gaming GPU available in laptop (15W–80W variants) and desktop configurations from 2021 onward. It has 4–8 GB of GDDR6 video memory. Roblox is not demanding for this card. The only reason you would see low FPS on an RTX 3050 is a configuration problem.
At default Roblox settings, the RTX 3050 is locked to 60 FPS by the in-game frame rate cap. This is not a hardware limitation — it is a setting. Remove the cap and configure NVIDIA correctly, and you will see 130–250 FPS in most games depending on the scene complexity.
FPS by game
All numbers are uncapped. Roblox defaults to 60 FPS — change Frame Rate Cap in Roblox Settings to your monitor's refresh rate to unlock this.
For laptop users: route Roblox to the RTX 3050
RTX 3050 laptops have both an Intel or AMD integrated GPU and the dedicated RTX 3050. Windows routes Roblox to the integrated GPU by default. This is the first thing to fix.
Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Add an app → navigate to %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions and add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe → Options → High performance → Save. Relaunch Roblox.
NVIDIA Control Panel settings
Right-click desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings → Add → RobloxPlayerBeta.exe. Set:
Click Apply. "Ultra" Low Latency Mode is important for competitive Roblox games — it eliminates the pre-rendered frame queue, reducing the delay between mouse movement and on-screen response.
Remove the FPS cap and disable fullscreen optimizations
Remove the cap: In any Roblox game, press Esc → Settings → Frame Rate Cap → set to your monitor's refresh rate. If you have a 144 Hz monitor, set 144. If 165, set 165. Running above your monitor's refresh rate provides no visual benefit and generates unnecessary heat.
Disable fullscreen optimizations: Win+R → %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions. Newest folder → right-click RobloxPlayerBeta.exe → Properties → Compatibility → "Disable fullscreen optimizations" → OK. This gives Roblox exclusive display access, cutting one frame of input pipeline latency. Matters in Arsenal and competitive games.
Power plan: Win+R → powercfg.cpl → High Performance. On an RTX 3050 laptop, the CPU is often the bottleneck in Roblox, not the GPU. High Performance keeps the CPU from throttling during brief load spikes.
Note on laptop vs desktop RTX 3050
The laptop RTX 3050 varies significantly by TDP (power limit). A 35W model performs similarly to the GTX 1650. An 80W model is meaningfully faster. Check your laptop's specs or run the benchmark to see your real-world score. The desktop RTX 3050 performs consistently above the laptop variants.
