The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti was released in October 2016 and shipped in a large number of laptops and desktops between 2016 and 2020. It remains one of the most common GPUs in use. It has 4 GB of GDDR5 dedicated video memory.
In Roblox, the GTX 1050 Ti is more than adequate. It runs the default 60 FPS cap stably in almost all games. The optimization focus at this tier is two things: making sure the card is actually running Roblox (on laptops, it often is not), and removing the frame rate cap to get the full benefit of a 144 Hz monitor if you have one.
FPS by game
Left column: default settings with Roblox's 60 FPS cap on. Right column: cap removed, NVIDIA configured, optimizations applied.
For laptop users: check which GPU is running Roblox
Laptops with a GTX 1050 Ti also have an Intel integrated GPU. Windows defaults to routing lightweight applications to the integrated GPU to save battery. Roblox is treated as lightweight. The result is getting integrated-tier FPS on a card that should be doing much better.
Fix: Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics → Add an app → navigate to %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions and add RobloxPlayerBeta.exe → Options → High performance → Save. Relaunch Roblox.
NVIDIA Control Panel settings
Right-click desktop → NVIDIA Control Panel → Manage 3D Settings → Program Settings → Add → RobloxPlayerBeta.exe. Set:
Click Apply.
Remaining steps
Remove the FPS cap. In Roblox, press Esc → Settings → Frame Rate Cap → set to your monitor refresh rate. On a 144 Hz monitor this is the difference between 60 and potentially 120+ FPS in less demanding games.
Power plan: High Performance. Win+R → powercfg.cpl → High Performance. The GTX 1050 Ti can throttle on a laptop under the Balanced plan, especially in a hot room or on a soft surface.
Disable fullscreen optimizations. Win+R → %localappdata%\Roblox\Versions. Newest version folder → right-click RobloxPlayerBeta.exe → Properties → Compatibility → check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" → OK.
Disable Xbox Game Bar. Win+I → Gaming → Xbox Game Bar off. Gaming → Captures → background recording off.
